-Scrapbook 1: Daddy -Let's look back at ourselves-Scrapbook 1: Daddy - by Shadoling
our little secrets, dirty laaundry...all scattered amongst photographs
piece by piece I lose it all, piece by piece disentegrating...
questions unanswered dancing relentless...
"Why don't you love me? Why aren't you here?"
"Don't you care anymore?"
Don't disappear, please don't let it go.
My hand descends and rips apart
the memories given, strewn before me
in a torrent of laughter
of sweat, blood,
tears and frustration
whatever strife and endless sorrow
is a puzzle, a wanted mystery.
Daddy didn't care, she said. Daddy will leave you
abandon you forever. Your boyfriend, too. Men are all the same
petty and self-serving. But these memories, the photo book
the eyes that say something else. He was sad.
He never told anyone. But he cried, too.
When the night's ink spilled across the pages
of his life, he was consumed
and darkened, saddened, tormented.
Daddy, daddy, come back home.
Father don't leave us all alone.
You promised me a long time ago...
